Creative Projects:
The beginning of my movement career formally began with Tap Dancing at age 2 ½ Soon, no floor was safe from being tapped upon. I performed regularly and endured numerous costume changes: ‘A glow-in-the dark grubworm’, ‘The Pink Panther’, ‘An itsy-bitsy-teeny-weeny-yellow-polka dot bikini’, ‘A top hat white tie and tails’, & ‘My favorite the Scottish Sword dance’. This whimsical behavior along with learning to play the flute, piccolo, clarinet, and trumpet continued until a high school upper class woman invited me to try out for the basketball team saying, “You could win the Senior Female Athlete Award.” I joined and four years later earned the honor.
Currently in pursuit of rhythm and root connections through drumming, shaking, rattling, and whistling whether on her Djembe, Cambodian or Turkish drum, Chinese stone flute, or other assorted instruments of expression.
